How soon will my smart meter be installed?

Meter exchanges often take up to 4 weeks but we try to get them done within 2 weeks. Your assistance is appreciated. Please:

• keep an eye out for correspondence from the metering company,
• reply quickly to any scheduling requests,
• let us know if the connection also supplies your neighbour's power,
• ensure your property is accessible on the day of an exchange,
• remove any obstacles (e.g. large dogs),
• be prepared for a brief interruption to your power.

If you do these things there is a much better chance of the job happening quickly. If a metering job is unsuccessful we will have to start the request process again.

If your connection point also supplies a neighbour's power we will either need their explicit permission to briefly disconnect them, or we will need to request a temporary isolation (i.e. bypass) to keep them powered through the change process. This will incur a network fee that we will pass-through to you if you accept the quote.
